Be a Shining Star fish! Even the Brainless Regenerate!
Nature’s reminder that brilliance comes in countless forms (not necessarily from a school). Here’s a creature that literally throws away parts of itself when things get tough – and then grows them back better than ever! Radical reinvention without the completion certificate! No strategic planning meetings, no vision boards, no TED talks about resilience. They just do their starfish thing, proving that sometimes the best comeback stories don’t need a brain to be brilliant. Next time you’re feeling like you’ve lost a limb -or missing the point- metaphorically speaking, remember: regeneration isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about adaptation. Besides, who wouldn’t want to be like a creature that can essentially photocopy itself …and every version is a star!
And consider the tide pools…sea stars thrive there because of – what we call – harsh conditions, not in spite of them. They are vital participants in a vast conversation taking place in the language of life itself.
When we become fascinated with a marvelous wonder like a starfish regrowing a lost arm, we are recognizing or being reminded of our own miraculous life. It takes one to know one. Behold, our bio-lineage, our kinship with the on-going, evolving, unstoppable pattern of living! Congratulations, you’ve found yourself!
